IBM (NYSE: IBM) annonce aujourd'hui avoir été nommé Leader dans le dernier rapport IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Managed Security Services 2014 Vendor Assessment.

Dans ce rapport, qui a évalué 11 entreprises offrant des services de sécurité managés à l'échelle mondiale, les analystes d'IDC placent IBM dans la catégorie des "leaders". L'étude reconnaît IBM pour ses compétences dans l'anticipation des menaces avancées, l'analyse du Big Data relatif à ces menaces, la sécurité du Cloud, les services additionnels et plus spécifiquement dans le domaine du web". Avec l'augmentation du nombre et de la complexité des cyber-attaques, ces services sont essentiels dans la mesure où les entreprises cherchent à protéger leurs actifs les plus précieux, incluant ceux placés dans le Cloud.

Ce rapport a également nommé IBM comme étant l'un des rares «participants proposant une prestation de services de sécurité managés qui peut être réellement considéré comme international." L'une des offres mondiales d'IBM mise en évidence par IDC est l’entité des SOC (Security Operations Centers), qui aident «Les clients à identifier les moyens pour augmenter leur niveau de sécurité, à mieux gérer les événements voir à assister les clients qui voudraient monter leurs propres centres opérationnels de sécurité». IBM possède actuellement plus de 10 centres répartis dans le monde dans lesquels les équipes gèrent et surveillent 15 milliards d'événements de sécurité, 24 heures sur 24 et 7 jours sur 7, pour plus de 4000 clients.

Cette annonce reconnaît l'engagement d'IBM à fournir une sécurité intelligente qui aide les organisations à protéger de manière globale leurs employés, leurs données, leurs applications et leur infrastructure technologique. IBM a reçu plus de 3000 brevets liés à la sécurité et dispose de plus de 1200 développeurs de logiciels de sécurité, 2000 consultants et 6000 chercheurs, développeurs et experts dans le domaine de la sécurité.

IDC MarketScape Names IBM a Leader in Worldwide Managed Security Services

Recognized for its Technical Expertise in Advanced Threat Intelligence, Big Data Analysis and Cloud Security

Armonk, N.Y. - 25 Jul 2014: IBM (NYSE: IBM) today announced that it has been named a leader in the new IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Managed Security Services 2014 Vendor Assessment.

In the report, which evaluated 11 companies offering managed security services worldwide, IDC analysts placed IBM in the “leaders” category, recognizing the company for its “strengths in advanced threat intelligence, big data analysis of threat intelligence, cloud security, complementary services, and customer portal.” With cyber attacks growing in both number and sophistication, these services are critical as businesses look to protect their most valuable assets, including those in the cloud.

The report also named IBM as one of the few “participants with managed security services delivery that can be considered truly global.” Part of IBM’s global offering highlighted is its “Security Operations Center practice, which helps “customers identify ways to improve results from their security information and event management solutions and assist customers that want to build their own security operation centers.” IBM currently has more than 10 centers located around the globe where teams manage and monitor 15 billion security events 24 hours a day, seven days a week for clients in more than 130 countries

Today’s news recognizes IBM’s commitment to providing security intelligence that helps organizations holistically protect their people, data, applications and technology infrastructure. IBM has more than 3,000 security related patents and more than 1,200 security software developers, 2,000 security consultants, and 6,000 security researchers, developers and subject matter experts.

The IDC MarketScape also emphasizes IBM’s partnership with AT&T. In February, the two companies announced a new strategic relationship to give businesses an easy-to-use, single-source for network security and threat management. The report states that the “joint venture meets a real market need with an end-to-end security solution that provides enterprise customers with both integration and simplicity.”
