ARMONK, N.Y - 26 oct. 2017: IBM (NYSE: IBM) a annoncé aujourd'hui des progrès considérables dans ses solutions et logiciels de stockage 100% flash afin de réduire de façon significative les coûts de stockage des données et d’étendre ses solutions pour les environnements de cloud hybride et privé.

 

 

 

• La nouvelle baie de stockage FlashSystem ultra-dense, capable de stocker davantage de données dans le même encombrement/espace, contribue à réduire les coûts de capacité des données de près de 60 %1.
• Le nouveau logiciel Spectrum Virtualize permet une migration et une récupération des données après sinistre simplifiées vers et depuis le Cloud public d’IBM ;
• Un nouveau logiciel permet d'utiliser le stockage IBM et non-IBM avec les environnements de plus en plus répandus que sont les containers Docker et leur orchestrateur Kubernetes ;
• Le programme bêta de logiciel basé sur le cloud intègre le stockage avec l’intelligence artificielle et le machine learning grâce à un nouveau logiciel pour collecter des informations d'inventaire et de diagnostic afin d'optimiser les performances, la capacité et la santé de l'infrastructure de stockage des clients.

 

Outre les fonctionnalités mentionnées ci-dessus, les mises à jour des systèmes et logiciels de stockage IBM incluent :

 

• Une nouvelle plateforme qui accélère les déploiements de cloud privé – Les solutions IBM Spectrum Access offrent ce dont les administrateurs de stockage ont besoin pour déployer rapidement et efficacement un cloud privé, offrant l’aspect économique et la simplicité du cloud ainsi que l'accessibilité, la virtualisation et les performances d'une implémentation sur site ;

 

• Une tarification basée sur la consommation – la nouvelle offre de service permet un modèle d'achat basé sur la consommation pour les environnements de cloud hybride, en s'appuyant sur la plupart des baies de stockage IBM (ainsi que celles intégrées dans VersaStack) pour les utilisateurs préférant consommer du stockage en mode OPEX ;

 

• Une interface utilisateur consolidée – une nouvelle interface pour FlashSystem 900 consolide les informations sur l'activité et la performance dans un seul tableau de bord. Conformément aux interfaces utilisateur utilisées dans d'autres systèmes de stockage IBM et dans le logiciel IBM Spectrum Storage, l'interface utilisateur simplifie les opérations et contribue à améliorer la productivité ;

 

• VersaStack avec FlashSystem – est annoncé aujourd'hui un rafraîchissement complet des offres d'infrastructure convergée IBM / Cisco VersaStack incorporant le nouveau FlashSystem ;

 

• Protection des investissements – plusieurs des nouvelles solutions de stockage 100% flash et VersaStack annoncées aujourd'hui sont compatibles avec NVMe, ce qui leur permet de tirer parti des offres NVMe à venir en 2018.

IBM Transforms FlashSystem to Help Drive Down the Cost of Data

 

Data Center Modernization Solutions Deliver Support for Public Cloud, Containers and Machine Learning

 

ARMONK, N.Y. - 26 Oct 2017: IBM (NYSE: IBM) today announced sweeping advances in its all-flash storage solutions and software to significantly drive down the costs of data and extend its solutions for hybrid and private cloud environments.

 

• New ultra-dense FlashSystem array capable of storing more data in the same footprint, contributes to lower data capacity costs by nearly 60 percent. [1]
• New Spectrum Virtualize software allows simplified migration and disaster recovery of data to and from the IBM Public Cloud;
• New software enables IBM and non-IBM storage to be used with popular Docker and Kubernetes containers environments;
• Cloud-based software beta program integrates storage with artificial intelligence and machine learning through new software to collect inventory and diagnostic information in order to help optimize the performance, capacity and health of clients’ storage infrastructure.

In addition to the aforementioned features, updates to IBM Storage systems and software include:

 

• New Platform Speeds Private Cloud Deployments – IBM Spectrum Access solutions offer what storage admins users need to deploy a private cloud quickly and efficiently, delivering the economics and simplicity of the cloud with accessibility, virtualization and performance of an on-premises implementation;

 

• Consumption-Based Pricing – new utility offering enables a consumption-based buying model for hybrid cloud environments leveraging most of the IBM storage and VersaStack portfolios for users preferring to buy storage as an operating expense;

 

• Consolidated User Interface – new interface for FlashSystem 900 consolidates activity and performance information in a single dashboard. Consistent with user interfaces used in other IBM storage systems and IBM Spectrum Storage software, the UI simplifies operations and helps improve productivity;

 

• VersaStack with FlashSystem – incorporating the newest FlashSystem being announced today an extensive refresh to the IBM/Cisco VersaStack converged infrastructure offerings;

 

• Investment Protection – several of the new all-flash storage and VersaStack solutions announced today are NVMe ready, enabling them to take advantage of the NVMe offerings coming in 2018.
